Honey's First Face-up

[NSFW] doll penis

My first go at doing a face up + full body blush. Pretty fucking proud of it, considering I did it in under three hours (not advisable, I tell you).

I learned a lot. One being how I wasn't too bad at this as I had originally anticipated. Another is that I sorely need to practice my spray can usage. I thought my MSC was going to give out on me, thus sparse sealing, which resulted in chipped joints. It was a fun experience. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'll revamp him entirely when his things from Taobao arrive, but for now, Honey will be keeping this look.

Dollmore and Lovingly Yours, EMS

Third week of March, I went to EMS to pick up my Dollmore package. More or less the same process, only that the old rundown warehouse-type structure where you used to go get packages for customs examination has been moved to the freshly renovated main building (which is the first thing you see when you enter EMS).

Only that so help me god, I cannot for the life of me fathom how they compute for your god damn taxes. I hadn't know by how much Dollmore had marked down my package, but I was hoping my tax wasn't over 1k. Turned out, Dollmore had marked down my package from 44.90 USD to 20 USD. Not bad right? Except my tax was still stupidly unreasonable.

I mean, what is that. Why is that. I kept comparing it to what I had computed last time and I just ???Long story short, if I hadn't had my package marked down, I would've probably paid more than 1k, which is bullshit. And if my package had indeed been 20 USD and I paid 919 Php for tax, that's taxing me almost 100% of what I paid for.

Best. Postal service. Ever.

I'm just glad my runs with EMS will be few and far between. Now, onto Dollmore.

A bunch of hooks for myself and kuya, plus five pairs of My Self Eyes, or the Dollmore DIY eyes.

Quick Homecoming Post!

My kuya, Alek, brought Honey's body over today! I am ridiculously thrilled to have him finally with me and whole. If I had told the me from December 2012 I'd be completing Honey in much less time than I had expected, I never would've believed it.

But here I am and here he is.

He looks happy, and I'm certainly very happy for him. ♥❤

Guess who's home!

Honey's head is home! A gorgeous Switch Ryun:R found brand new on the secondhand market. He was being sold by the very kind Lachlana/Maru-Light who guided me through my first-ever buying process.

A comforting weight on my hand (❁´◡`❁)*✲゚*

Life updates, plans for the blog & big news

After two part time jobs, a Masters Program entrance exam, a vacation in Singapore, and the Licensure Exam for Teachers, I feel the need to say I have not made any progress whatsoever in modding current projects Suama and Achilles.

Instead, I have amassed ten LBXs, nine of them (Achilles included) are still waiting to be built. Who's the lucky exception? Dot-Phaser, the owner of this smokin hot leg.

He was built last May when I purchased him after work. I fell in love with his colors and wanted to try coating him with Tamiya Flat Clear (TS 80) without further modifications. You can see my liveblog of it on Tumblr. The reason why I neglected to post here is because I had affixed his shoulder armaments backwards and found out the mistake much later, to my embarrassment.

He hasn't had new photos taken since so the leg will suffice for now.

Aside, as I've mentioned, these past few months have been busy real life-wise. The free time I had was admittedly rather ill-spent *coughplayingthesimscough* but now that my exams are over and I have two free-ish months ahead of me while waiting for the results, I can get back to modding.

(I'm supposed to be looking for a job but hey)

Plans for the blog! I've decided not to limit the entries to just gunpla and dolls, although this blog will mainly be about them. I will occasionally post more serious entries such as my future teaching experiences or whatever nerdy thoughts and ramblings I have about my classes or work. Things that aren't too personal to be posted on LJ, and things that I actually want people to read about and reference.

And lastly, big news! Yesterday, I paid for Honey's head--a Switch Ryun:R.

I can't even begin to explain how important this is as my first ever step to getting into the BJD hobby. Honey is an OC of mine who has a special place in my heart, and an incredible story to tell. Moreover, his sculpt is very hard to come by. Switch is a gorgeous gorgeous company that does not rerelease sculpts once they've sold out, so finding him brand new on the secondhand market (as I did) is an amazing stroke of luck which makes him worth the price I paid.

The goal I set on November 2012 still stands--I get my first BJD on the JMP's 10th anniversary, which means I have seven months to get a body for Honey. Wish me luck!
